How Your Practice Exam Is Scored

Your practice exam is scored by comparing your answers to responses that best match what the Postal Service looks for in successful employees. Different question types are scored in different ways, closely reflecting how the real Postal Exams are evaluated.

Some questions are scored as simply correct or incorrect, such as selecting the right delivery location, calculating correct change, or choosing the appropriate product or service for a customer. Other questions allow for partial credit. For example, in Work Scenario questions, you earn credit for correctly identifying both the action you would be most likely to take and the one you would be least likely to take. In sections like address verification and register questions, each correctly answered detail contributes to your overall score.

All sections are combined into an overall percentage score, which is then converted into a Readiness Score on a 1–5 scale. This Readiness Score represents how prepared you are right now to take the real Postal Exam.

Because this is an abbreviated practice test, scores are capped to reflect realistic outcomes. The maximum possible score on this practice exam is 96%, which corresponds to a top Readiness Score of 4.6 out of 5.
