Postal exam 476, also called the Mail Processor VEA exam and the Processing Clerk VEA Exam, fills all Mail Processor and Data Conversion Operator jobs.

| Work Scenarios | These questions ask what actions you would take, and not take, when faced with unusual work situations. Success requires answers that comply with USPS policies and protocols. |
| Verify Customer Information | Each question consists of a completed change of address form and a list of four items supposedly from that form. You are to determine whether or not the items match the info in the form. |
| Move the Mail | These questions give you an address surrounded by either four mailboxes or four mail totes. You are to select the mailbox or mail tote that matches the numbers in the address. |
| Tell Us Your Story | This section asks about your experience and background. Your answers demonstrate your potential as an employee. You must select the precise answers they want to succeed. |
| Describe Your Approach | 70% of all questions are in this section. They are incredibly strange, and you cannot tell which answer is best. You must choose the specific answers they want to ace the exam. |
