President Trump’s federal hiring freeze DOES NOT APPLY to the Postal Service. The USPS is not a federal agency and is not supported with federal funds. It is a separate governmental organization funded by the revenue it earns.
To avoid confusing Postal Job seekers and encourage them to apply for open positions, the U.S. Office of Management & Budget and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management confirmed that the hiring freeze does not include the USPS. See a statement by the American Postal Workers Union for verification.
In fact, the Post Office is now aggressively hiring. There are 4,000 - 5,000 open jobs posted on the USPS website every day. With 640,000 employees, the Postal Service is one of the largest employers in the U.S., and they are continually recruiting new workers.
And the Postal Service has an Instagram page where they post notices year-round about nationwide hiring events. They have posted over 5,500 events over the last few years and continue to regularly post many more.
